EMU Series
The EMU series of plug-ins are accurate simulations of classic video game tone generators and synthesizer chips. Unlike other chip-tune VST the EMU series is designed around the data sheets and specifications of the original sound chips giving accurate sound emulation. No decimators or bit crushers here, this is the real deal!
Emulation of the Texus Instruments SN76489 tone generator. This VSTi emulates the tone and noise channels using information from the real SN76489 data sheets. The SN-EMU has the following features;
- True 4-bit envelope quantization
- 4-bit quantization tied to the velocity
- Monphonic or three note polyphonic tone channel
- Hardware accurate LFO with delay, mix and rate
- Pseudo random noise generated by a 15-step shift register and feedback loop
- Three different noise frequencies controlled via a separate MIDI channel

In the mid-80s the market suddenly was ambushed with cheap toy sampling keyboards like the Casio SK-1 and the Yamaha VSS 30. Even if they weren't anything special and were probably picked up from toy's R us rather than a professional music store they still played a part of many musicians studio set-up, providing crunched-up shadows of what they were supposed to be sampling, providing a warm and fuzzy quality. The V-DS (Virtual Digital Sampler) is a recreation of those crunchy 8-bit samplers but full with extra, more professional options. The features of the FULL VERSION are;
- A recreation of vintage AD/DA sampler circuitry
- Digital ADSR envelope for snappy volume control
- Analogue modelled filter with resonance
- Load two samples at once to layer them together
- Dedicated LFO filter control
- Six Classic 80s sounds built into the samplers ROM
- Mouse Keyboard for previewing your samples quickly
- Support for Loop Points in your samples

A full recreation of the Casio CZ synthesizers... no more, no less! All the features of the later CZ synthesizers are present including six 8-stage envelopes, stereo chorus and 8-note polyphony.
Although the synth engine is still in it's early stages I have developed enough to give a very accurate recreation of a real CZ synthesizer. Click the links below to download MP3 demo's.
